Terms of use
Version 1.0 · Effective from
1. Who we are
PolyglotWolfas ("the service") is run by Gytis Baltasevičius, a private person in Lithuania ("we", "us"). You can reach us at gytis@smaragdinas.com. These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use the service.
2. A private beta, offered "as is"
The service is in a private beta. It is still being built: features can change, stop working for a time, or be removed. We offer it "as is", with no promise that it is always available or free of errors.
3. Accounts by invitation only
There is no public sign-up. We create an account for each person we invite. Keep your password secret: you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
4. Your content stays yours
The words, sentences, photos and conversations you add ("your content") stay yours. You allow us to store and process your content only as far as we need to run the service for you, for example to translate a word or to plan your practice. We do not sell your content and we do not use it for advertising.
5. AI output and dictionary data can be wrong
Translations, conversation replies and the feedback on your answers are made by AI models. Dictionary data comes from an outside dictionary. All of these can be wrong or incomplete. Check anything important in a second source.
6. Allowed use
Use the service only to learn languages, for yourself. Do not break the law with it, do not upload content that you have no right to share, do not try to get into other people's accounts or our systems, and do not overload the service on purpose, for example with automated requests.
7. Price
The service is free during the private beta. If we ever plan to charge for it, we will tell you at least 30 days before, by email. You will not pay anything unless you agree to the new price.
8. Suspension and deletion
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why. You can ask us to delete your account at any time by writing to gytis@smaragdinas.com. The privacy policy says what is deleted and when.
9. Limit of liability
The service is free and offered as a beta, so we are liable only as far as the consumer law of the European Union and of your country requires. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for harm caused on purpose or by gross negligence, or any right that the law does not allow us to limit.
10. Applicable law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Lithuania. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection that the law of your country gives you (Rome I Regulation, Article 6).
11. Changes and contact
When we change these terms, we publish the new version on this page with a new version number and date. For an important change we also tell you by email before it takes effect. Questions: gytis@smaragdinas.com.
